October 2001: Month of the Living Dead

Might as well devote an entire month to shambling reanimated corpses, since when they resuscitate, they usually do it in large numbers. Note: We’re talking only for-real zombies here. No mummies, no vampires, no mind-control victims, no later Peter Cushing roles. Just the honestly dead who won’t take a dirt nap.

Movies watched as part of the festival:

And a special book review tie-in: Night of the Living Dead by John Russo

Plus some movies I could have included, if I hadn’t reviewed them already: 7 Doors of Death (1981), The Alien Dead (1980), City of the Walking Dead (1980), Dawn of the Dead (1978), The Dead Hate the Living (1999), Doctor Butcher, M.D. (1979), Hard Rock Zombies (1984), Night of the Creeps (1986), Plan 9 From Outer Space (1958), Prison of the Dead (2000), The Return of the Living Dead (1985), Shock Waves (1977), Tombs of the Blind Dead (1971), Voodoo (1995), Y2K: Shutdown Detected (1999), Zombie Nightmare (1986).
