All of those elements and more should be present. I just think that narrative is central, and everything else should support it, not detract from it. In a way Paul Blart has a more streamlined and momentum filled narrative than Godfather part 2. I guess I see "plot" as just another thing that becomes boring, I'd rather have interesting characters and visuals.
